Although I have taken a step back from birth work, it is absolutely one of my very favorite subjects to document and I still open up my calendar a few times a year in order to offer birth photography.
The first snuggles are like nothing else
This mom reached out last spring and I was so glad it worked for me to be there for the birth of her daughter at the very end of July. Mom was giving birth at Littleton Hospital in Centennial — when I finally got word that it was time to head over, the sky was putting on a gorgeous lightning show with a little bit of rain.
When I arrived I was greeted by the most amazing birth team including her husband, mother, an attentive nurse and a wonderful midwife. There was also a full group of family members hanging out in the waiting room. They had been there since early afternoon and stayed until baby girl arrived a little after 11 pm.
